The annual conference brought together a diverse group of individuals and organisations to discuss the latest research and practical trials surrounding financial stability and pensions in today’s society. Among the speakers was our CEO, Muna Yassin MBE, who shared her insights on the panel titled ‘Pensions in the era of income volatility: how we can learn from lived experience’.
During discussions, Muna shed light on the fact that a significant portion of individuals from minority ethnic backgrounds do not trust their money in workplace pensions. This statistic, which stands at 26%, highlights a concerning issue within the current pension system that needs to be addressed. Muna delved into the reasons behind this lack of trust and discussed potential solutions to create a more equitable system that caters to individuals with fluctuating incomes.
By participating in this panel, we not only brought attention to the important issues of our clients and the work we do but also sparked a conversation on how we can work towards a more inclusive and cross-sector awareness . It is through discussions like these that we can drive positive change and create a financial system that works for everyone, regardless of their background or financial situation. Overall, the conference was a great success, providing a platform for individuals from various sectors to come together and exchange ideas on how we can improve financial stability and pensions in today’s ever-changing world. We look forward to continuing these important conversations and working towards a more secure and equitable future for all.
