As with many charities, this past year has been filled with both challenges and success, but we have been truly thankful for all the support given throughout the year.

Throughout 2024, some real highlights have been launching several new projects aimed at bolstering our ability to assist individuals grappling with the cost-of-living crisis and financial uncertainty.

Our pioneering Grow Your Own Advice training programme, launched in 2024 was designed to fill the gap in community-based debt and welfare advice, particularly for Londoners from diverse ethnic backgrounds. Additionally, we began work on our Racial Justice Network project, an ambitious movement to confront the systemic, cultural, and structural barriers that hinder Black and racialised Londoners from accessing financial products and services, as well as increasing their representation in financial services. We established our Rooted Finance lived experience steering group, a crucial step in ensuring that our services and solutions remain not only innovative but also deeply connected to the real-life experiences and needs of individuals from various backgrounds across London and the UK.

These efforts have enabled us to broaden our reach and enhance our impact, allowing us to provide even more essential support to families and individuals facing financial and debt challenges. None of this would have been possible without the invaluable collaboration we have shared with our partners and funders.

Our mission continues

Despite our numerous accomplishments and positive strides, we remain acutely aware of the ongoing challenges faced by individuals and families dealing with financial uncertainty. The persistent cost of living crisis, energy price increases, and chronic levels of in-work poverty continue to affect countless lives, and our commitment to offering compassionate and effective support remains steadfast. Together, we have made a meaningful impact, and we are determined to carry on this essential work in the coming year.
