It was great to attend the Fair4All Finance parliamentary reception, on Tackling Financial Exclusion Together, at the House of Commons on 4th November. It was good to see such strong commitment, across sectors and political parties including the Economic Secretary to the Treasury, Tulip Siddiq MP, to collaborate to deliver a bold and ambitious national Financial Inclusion Strategy.
Financial exclusion is an issue that affects millions of people every day. There are 20 million people in financially vulnerable circumstances across the country. That includes people who are in problem debt, people who can’t get insurance, have no savings, or are just struggling to get by. We all have a crucial opportunity now to set out why financial inclusion matters, and to contribute to a national strategy that will make a lasting difference. We all have a role to play in making this happen, and we are looking forward to collaborating with you to continue this important work together. You can find a write-up of the event, setting out the priorities to tackle financial exclusion together on the Fair4All Finance website.
