Led by Impact on Urban Health, the research ‘Exploring Open Banking with better health in mind’ aims to assess the inclusivity of financial services such as Open Banking apps for vulnerable individuals, especially those dealing with health issues. The research was co-designed with ourselves that understands local needs, with Stockwell Partnership, and Shelter London. The research unfolds in two phases: the initial phase explored the financial challenges faced by vulnerable individuals, while the second phase examined user experiences with these apps. One of the key findings suggests that making Open Banking apps more inclusive involves service providers partnering with apps that focus on social impact. Additionally, supporting sector growth through seed funding was identified as a strategy to enhance inclusivity.
