We were delighted to attend the Official Launch of Black in FinTech at the end of September in London. Black in Fintech kicked off last night with conversation, culture, and community to explore the future of finance through a new lens. The Black in Fintech network is committed to increasing Black representation and inclusion across fintech — not only by supporting founders and professionals, but also by driving product innovation that serves communities often left behind.
They focus on: –
- Shining a spotlight on Black talent and leadership in fintech
- Creating space for cross-cultural dialogue and collaboration
- Host events, panels and community gatherings that connect founders, professionals, investors and allies
- Champion fintech solutions that expand inclusion and financial access globally
The launch brought about great discussion on the power of culture and community in shaping finance, Fintech’s blind spots and how to close them and Bold visions for building wealth. Chaired by led by Valerie Kontor, the powerful panel of cross-cultural fintech leaders included, Nina Mohanty , Joe Kinvi of and Perpetua Gitungo, CAMS, CFE
